Clément Nunes

Systems engineer at Inria, working with the STACK team on a cloud environment for prototyping real-time environmental monitoring applications.

After several years as a freelance software engineer across numerous projects, I shifted in 2025 toward independent projects and more scientific problems.

I learn by building from-scratch prototypes with few dependencies to understand the underlying principles in depth.

Drawn to challenges at the intersection of distributed systems, artificial intelligence, mathematics, and physics.

Projects in progress

Chicago SAGE Hackathon — Resilient Urgent Orchestrator

Edge orchestrator built in Chicago during the NSF-supported SAGE Grande Summer of AI. It gives urgent camera tasks priority when computing power is limited.

Mortimus / morty-vision

Edge AI for early wildfire-smoke detection. It filters camera images locally and calls a vision model only when needed.

VLA Manipulation Policy

Vision-Language-Action model for robotic manipulation in simulation (MuJoCo / Isaac Sim).

Stanford CS231n: Deep Learning for Computer Vision

Stanford's course on deep learning for computer vision: CNNs, object detection, and image segmentation.

MIT 16.485: Visual Navigation for Autonomous Vehicles

MIT course on autonomous navigation: visual odometry, SLAM, sensor fusion.

Simple-Ijepa

Exploring Simple-Ijepa (experimentation mode) for visual representation learning.

RNN RWKV (experimentations)

Experimenting with RWKV: a modern RNN with linear complexity, a lightweight alternative to Transformers.
